Dmitry has over 10 years’ extensive experience of providing legal advice on real estate and construction. His professional expertise includes legal advice on both greenfield and brownfield projects, legal support for transactions involving acquisition and lease of major real estate facilities, assistance in organising design and construction, including drafting and negotiating contracts on development project management and contractor and design agreements; advising on various real estate aspects of corporate M&A, natural resources, financing and other projects.

For several years in a row, Dmitry has been selected by peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in Russia in the field of Real Estate Law. The Expert Guides to the World's Leading Lawyers 2015-2016 issued by Euromoney Legal Media Group also selected Dmitry as a leading practising lawyer in Russia in the real estate and construction area.

Before joining Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner (Russia) LLP, Dmitry worked for over seven years for the Real Estate and Construction Practice of the Baker & McKenzie Moscow office, the last five years as a Senior Associate.

Projects

Representative advisory projects completed and/or currently being implemented with Dmitry Ilyin’s participation include:

  • Advised Danone on acquisition of land in the Moscow Region for supporting plant operation, including pre-sale preparation and legal support during conclusion of land sale and purchase agreements;
  • Advised a RusHydro subsidiary on acquisition of land plots for construction of a hydro-turbine plant, including due diligence of the land plots, pre-sale preparation and legal support for sale and purchase transactions, as well as advice on legal arrangements during construction of the plant;
  • Advised Capital Group on sale of the Legenda Tsvetnogo offices;
  • Advised South Stream Transport B.V. on formalising land and legal relations for construction of the Russian part of the South Stream Gas Pipeline and co-operation with sea ports for the given purposes;
  • Advised the major food and pet food manufacturer Mars Inc. on acquiring storage premises and arranging relations with logistics operators;
  • Advised a Russian investor on acquiring an electric equipment plant in Serbia;
  • Advised a major Italian engineering company, during negotiations with GMK Norilsk Nickel on drafting and negotiating EPC-contracts for construction of sulphur reprocessing plants totalling USD 2bn;
  • Advised a Russian investor on participation in construction of a hydro-power station in Georgia;
  • Advised a leading global computer security company, on a preliminary lease for nearly 30 000 sq.m. of office space at Olympia Park, a Class A business centre in Moscow;
  • Advised an American investor on acquiring a logistics hub in the Moscow Region;
  • Advised OAO Meditsina, a major private healthcare organisation, on design and construction of a cancer centre in Khimki, Moscow Region, including drafting and negotiating the general design and general construction contractor agreements;
  • Advised a major world manufacturer of construction mixes on construction of a plant in Lobnya, Moscow Region, including land acquisition, establishment of sanitary zones, drafting and negotiating design and general construction contractor agreements and other matters.
